Cox Sr., age 89, a resident of Wakefield, Va., died Friday, January 14, 2000 in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin. A native of Sussex County, Dennis was born on August 16, 1910, the son of the late Julius L. and Martha Emma Wells Cox. Dennis was know as an honest, hard working man, an avid hunter and gardener and a good neighbor. He was a faithful member of the Wakefield United Methodist Church. He began work with Columbia Peanut Company, Wakefield in 1956 with more than 20 years of service. He had also worked for J.E. Bains & Company, Wakefield and Wakefield Peanut Company. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Coolidge Cox; two sons, Dennis B. Cox, Jr. and his wife, Elise of Goose Creek, S.C. and Steven T. Cox and his wife, Angelia of Andrews, S.C.; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, J.L. Cox Jr. and J.C. Cox both of Waverly; a stepson, Richard Middleton and two stepdaughters, Doris Liverman and Betty Shoemaker, all of Florida. He was brother of the late Mable Cox. Funeral services will be held at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield on Monday, January 17, 2000 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. C. Randolph Duncan. Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Ivor Rescue Squad or to the Wakefield United Methodist Church. ****************************************************************************** DENNIS BALDWIN COX WAKEFIELD - Dennis B.
