WAKEFIELD - Bernice E. Cowling Sr., 77, a retired Surry County farmer, died Wednesday in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk. He was a member of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church. Survivors include four daughter, Mrs. Nell C. Rogers and Mrs. Vernon V. Lowe, both of Wakefield. Mrs. Edna Earl Schwicktenberg of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Dorothy C. Moody of Baton Rouge, La.; two sons, B.E. Cowling, Jr. and Albert C. Cowling, both of Waverly; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie C. Brown of Fairfax and Mrs. Ruth Harlow of Mineral; a brother, Harvey J. Cowling of Wakefield; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Purviance Funeral Home by the Rev. James M. Tongue and the Rev. R.E. Brittle. Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Waverly Rescue Squad or the Rocky Hock Methodist Church. ****************************************************************************** BERNICE EVERETT COWLING Bernice E. Cowling, Jr. and Albert C. Cowling, of Waverly; four daughters, Mrs. Nell C. Rogers, Mrs. Vernon V. Lowe, both of Wakefield, Mrs. Edna Earl Schwicktenberg of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Dorothy C.
