Cowling Sr., 52, 727 Blandy Avenue, died Wednesday in McGuire Veterans Hospital, Richmond. Born in Hopewell, he was a checker at Richmond Coca-Cola Bottling works. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bernice C. Cowling; two sons, C.C. Cowling, Jr. and Michael Cowling, Jr., both of Richmond; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey J. Cowling of Wakefield; three sisters, Mrs. James D. Atkins and Mrs. Keith G. Richardson, both of Wakefield, and Mrs. E.M. Hawkins of Greenville, S.C.; and a granddaughter. A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. David Irving. Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery.
