CORA VIRGINIA BAILEY CLARKE 

   WAKEFIELD - A funeral service for Cora Bailey Clarke, 81, was held at 2 
p.m. Saturday in Purviance Funeral Chapel by Dr. R.E. Brittle.  Burial was 
in Wakefield Cemetery.

   Mrs. Clarke died Thursday in a hospital

   A native of Southampton County, she was the member of Burton's Grove 
Christian Church and the widow of Henry Thomas Clarke.

   Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. T.L. Wooldridge Jr. of Midlothian, 
Mrs. Kenneth C. Melton of Mechanicsville, and Ethelle Browder and Lillian 
Gainey, both of Petersburg; 13 grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

   Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association of the 
American Cancer Society.
