Wayland Council, 65, died Wednesday in Stuart Circle Hospital, Richmond. He was born in Sussex County, was a farmer before retirement, and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Margaret Wooten Council; three sisters, Mrs. Audrey Woolard of Richmond and Mrs. Elizabeth C. Phillips and Miss Lynetta Council, both of Waverly; and a brother, C. Earl Council of Richmond. A funeral will conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. Merle F. Sollinger. Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 tonight and request expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Waverly Volunteer Rescue Squad.
