Carroll, here. He was a retired farmer. In addition to his son, he is survived by two other sons, C.N. Carroll, of Portsmouth, and Edwin W. Carroll, of Wakefield; three daughters, Mrs. D.W. Horton and Mrs. B.B. Cox, both of Warwick County, and Mrs. H.D. Goodrich, of Wakefield; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the residence. Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** EMMETT WALTER CARROLL EMMETT W. CARROLL DIED SATURDAY AFTER LONG ILLNESS Emmett Walter Carroll, 83, of Wakefield, died at his home, Saturday, May 23 after a long illness. He was oldest member and a faithful worker of Burton's Grove Christian Church. He is survived by three sons, R.E. Carroll, E.W. Carroll, both of Wakefield and C.N. Carroll of Portsmouth; three daughters, Mrs. D.W. Horton, Mrs. B.B. Cox, both of Warwick County and Mrs. H.D. Goodrich of Wakefield; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held at home, Monday, May 25 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Brittle officiating. Burial was in the Wakefield Cemetery. Music was rendered by the Wakefield Christian Church Choir. Active pallbearers were R.E. Andrews, J.E. Bain, W.C. Seeley, V.L. Worrell, Sr., S.A. Whitmore, C.A. Anderson, P.N. Gay and Lyster Altizer. Honorary pallbearers were friends of the family.
