GENEVIEVE LEWIS ROSE CARROLL 

  WAKEFIELD - Genevieve Rose Carroll, 82, a resident of Wakefield since 1941, 
died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 1997, at Southside Regional Hospital, Petersburg.

  Born Madison County, Mrs. Carroll was the widow of Edwin Walter Carroll and 
the daughter of the late William and Blanche Weatherall Rose.  A retired 
beautician, she was a member of Wakefield United Methodist Church and the 
Wakefield Women’s Club.

  Mrs. Carroll is survived by her son, Edwin Benjamin Carroll, and his wife, 
Dianna; grandson, Christopher Rossie Carroll, all of Wakefield; sister-in-law, 
Minerva C. Cox of Newport News; nieces, Nancy Lee Haney, Janice Marie LaPrade; 
and nephew, James Warren Rose, all of Orange County.

  A funeral service will be held at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel, 
on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. C. Randy Duncan officiating. 
Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at 
Mrs. Carroll’s home on Courtland Road in Wakefield.

  Memorial donations may be made to the Waverly Volunteer Rescue Squad.
