HAZEL WHITMORE CARROLL 

  WAKEFIELD - Hazel Whitmore Carroll, 88, died Saturday, Sept. 29, at Louise 
Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk.

  A native of Surry County, Mrs. Carroll lived in Wakefield United Methodist 
Church.  She was the widow of the late Rossie E. Carroll.

  Survivors include one daughter, Christine C. Warren of Wakefield; one son, 
Lawrence C. Goodrich of Chester; one granddaughter; and one great-
granddaughter.

  A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Purviance Funeral Home, 
Wakefield, by the Rev. Jess V. Staton.  Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery.

  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 tonight 
and at their residence on Prospect Street in Wakefield.

  The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of 
contributions to the Waverly Rescue Squad or to the Wakefield United Methodist 
Church Building Fund.
