The body will be taken from Elizabeth City Tuesday morning to Wakefield. Mr. Davis was a department head of Sears Roebuck at Portsmouth; his mother, Mrs. O.G. Davis of Raleigh; one son, Richard R. Davis, Portsmouth; one brother, Clarence Davis, Lynchburg; and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Bagy of Lynchburg. His widow Cornelia Ray (MAGEE) DAVIS (1917-1999) 2m. William Lincoln GLORE. They are buried in Ocklawaha Bridge Cemetery, Lynn, Marion Co., FL. His mother Jennie (EVENS) DAVIS (1891-1918) was buried in Riverview Cemetery, Charlottesville. Ray & his brother Clarence appear in the 1920 Census as inmates of the Children's Home, Charlottesville. They appear in the 1930 Census in Dendron, Surry Co., with their foster parents, Richard Asa & Mildred Buxton (BRENT) SAVEDGE. Richard (1890-1952) is also buried in Wakefield Cemetery; Mildred (1886-1978) is buried in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. Their father, Oliver Gideon DAVIS (1884-1958), is buried with his third wife in Oakwood Cemetery, Raleigh, Wake Co., NC.
