Born in Quincey, Ill. She was a daughter of Margaret and the late Vernon R. Strong. Shirley graduated from high school in Monett, Mo. She attended and graduated from Weber College in Ogedne, Utah. While there she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir of the Methodist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and secretary of the Orchid Society for two years while living in Hawaii. She was a substitute school teacher. She is survived by her husband, Edward Dunbar; her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Lila of Hawaii; her daughter and son-in-law, Marcille and Leonard Rollings, of Wakefield; her mother, Margaret K. Strong; her sister, Norma and husband, Drexel Bradley, of Salisbury; three grandchildren, Carrie Dawn Kruger, Christopher Rollings of Wakefield and Stevie Dunbar of Hawaii. She was laid to rest in Wakefield with Randy Duncan officiating. Colonial Funeral Home in Smithfield, Va., handled the arrangements.
