All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ROLAND EDWARD EPPS WAKEFIELD - Roland Edward Epps, 75, a resident of Wakefield, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, near Wakefield as a result of injuries received in a single vehicle accident. He was born on Nov. 24, 1925, in Southampton [sic*] County, the son of the late William E. "Ned" Epps and Beulah Britt Epps. He was a retired employee of Georgia Pacific Lumber Company, Wakefield, and a member of the Wakefield United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eunice Bailey Epps; two daughters, Mrs. Lisa E. Merkh and her husband, Ray, of Franklin and Mrs. E. Faye Oliver and her husband, Hal, of Barhamsville; a son, Garry R. Epps and his wife, Angie, of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren, Dustin Holland, Michael Oliver, Cheyenne Markh, Jared Sheets and Kristin Sheets; two brothers, Cecil Epps of Wakefield and Braxton Epps of Lawrenceville; two sisters, Doris Bailey of Ivor and Helen Gwaltney of Baltimore. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, in Wakefield Cemetery by Dr. James Becker. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 5349 E. Princess Anne Road, Norfolk, VA. 23502.
