Born in Smithfield on Oct. 5, 1917 [sic*], she was the daughter of the late Allen and Georgie Felts. She was a member of Wakefield Baptist Church and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends of Wakefield. Mrs. Ellis is survived by her husband, Benjamin F. Ellis Jr.; her son, Brian David Eyler Sr.; her sister, Edna Felts Myers and husband, Luther, and her grandson, Brian David Eyler Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Felts; and her sister, Louise Jones. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, at the Wakefield Chapel of J.T. Morris & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at Wakefield Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jim Kerr officiating. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of the church. Burial will then follow at 2 p.m., in St. Luke’s Cemetery, in Smithfield. Bernice Bowden (FELTS EYLER IVEY; Mrs. Benjamin F. "Doc" is buried with his parents in Blandford Cemetery, in his native Petersburg. She 3m. widower Benjamin Franklin ELLIS, Jr., 30 Aug 1975 in Smithfield. IoW.Co. M.Cert. 114-75 gives b. 25 Feb 1918. He is buried with his first wife in Wakefield Cemetery.
