CEPHUS EDWIN "PETER" GOODRICH 

  WAKEFIELD - C.E. "Peter" Goodrich, 75, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at 
Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk.  He was the husband of the late 
Eleanor Holt Goodrich.  Born on April 24, 1924, in Surry County, he was 
the son of the late C. Gurney Goodrich and Leda Whitmore Goodrich.  He 
retired in 1992 as a machinist for Georgia-Pacific Corp., Wakefield.  He 
was a member of the Wakefield United Methodist Church, the Wakefield 
Masonic Lodge No. 198, A.F.& A.M. and was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran 
of World War II.

  He is survived by a daughter, Gayle P. Goodrich of Richmond; two sons, 
Edwin G. Goodrich of Wakefield and Douglas H. Goodrich of Waverly; a sister, 
Charlene Goodrich Traylor of Wakefield; and four grandchildren.

  A memorial service with Masonic rites will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 
at 3 p.m. at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. C. Randolph 
Duncan.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the 
services on Tuesday and at other times will be at the residence of Edwin and 
Tammy Goodrich, Brittles Mill Road, Wakefield.

  Memorial donations may be made to the Waverly Rescue Squad.
