Born Sept 7, 1926 in Surry County, and later resided at 305 Church St. in Wakefield, he was the son of the late Harry Lee Goodrich Sr. and Ara Whitmore Goodrich. Peter was the loving husband of the late Rose Branch Goodrich and he was the father of Clarence Allan Goodrich and his wife Lea of Wakefield and Janice Goodrich Hines and her husband, John of Broadway. He is also survived by four grandchildren, four great- grandchildren; his sister, Elva Greenstreet; numerous nieces and nephews. He was the owner of the Wakefield Dry Cleaners from 1955 until 1995. He was a Master Mason at the Wakefield Masonic Lodge No. 198 and a former member of the Wakefield Town Council. A funeral will be held Wednesday, May 12, at 3 p.m. at Purviance Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Kerr officiating. Burial will follow in the Wakefield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the home of Clarence Allan Goodrich, 4155 Tintop Road, Wakefield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
