She was a native of Sussex County and was a member of the Surry Baptist Church. She was also a member of the A.P.V.A. and a hostess at the Rolfe- Warren House in Surry. She was the widow of Herbert H. Gilliam Sr. Mrs. Gilliam is survived by one son, Herbert H. Gilliam, Jr. of Hopewell; four sisters, Mrs. Janie Dickerson, Mrs. Maude Tewell and Mrs. Melvin Bain, all of Waverly, and Mrs. Arthur Burkman of Baltimore, Md.; two brothers, J.B. Cox of Waverly and Graham Cox of Stony Creek. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, with burial in the Wakefield Cemetery. The Rev. C.C.
