Mrs. Grubbs would have celebrated her 80th birthday on May 8, 1999. A native of Surry County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Fulton and Harriet Faison. She worked for many years on the Peninsula as a pharmaceutical associate and was a member of Dendron Baptist Church. Mrs. Grubbs is survived by one son, James R. Grubbs of Newport News; two daughters, Linda G. Clarke of Gloucester and Peggy G. Briggs of Camp Hill, Pa.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Wallace E. Faison of Dendron; four sisters, Frances F. Bloxom of West Point, Katherine F. Greco of Waverly, Barbara F. Seward of Richmond and Evelyn F. Whiteman of Newport News. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Fulton Faison, Jr.; and sisters, Mildred F. Garrett and Harriet F. Whitmore. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 28, at 2 p.m. in Wakefield Cemetery, Wakefield, with the Rev. R. Wendell Sodergren officiating.
