Griffin, 91, former resident of Sussex County, died Saturday in Riverside Hospital. She was a member of Elam Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Bessie G. Harrup of Newport News and Mrs. R.N. Merriman of Waterport, N.Y.; a son, Benjamin A. Griffin of Richmond; one half-sister, Mrs. Mollie Prince of Chester; a brother, Willie P. Griffin of Suffolk; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. J.E. Edwards and the Rev. David Moore.
