All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ EVELYN FEILD GRIFFIN RICHMOND - Evelyn Feild Griffin, 85, formerly of Wakefield and a retired teacher, died Wednesday, June 12, in Stuart Circle Hospital. Mrs. Griffin taught elementary school in Wakefield for 41 years. A resident of Westminster-Canterbury since 1975, she was a 1927 graduate of Fredericksburg State Teacher College. Mrs. Griffin was a charter life member of the Wakefield Woman’s Club and a member of the Virginia Historical Society and the Thomas Rolfe Branch of the Association for the Presevation of Virginia Antiquities. She was also a member of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the Genealogical Society and Ginter Park Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn B. Dartt of Oxford, N.C.; two brothers, J. David Feild of Georgetown, S.C., and Stephen J. Feild of Shreveport, La.; and two grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield. Evelyn (FEILD; Mrs. Jesse F.)
