Born on April 21, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Crawley Allen and Lucy Branch Laine. She was a member of the Wakefield United Methodist Church and attended the Wakefield Baptist Church. The widow of Walter Clarence Griffin, she is survived by a son, Dr. C.W. Griffin and his wife, Tina Ross Griffin, of Wakefield; two grandsons, C. Wayne Griffin, Jr. and Ross Laine Griffin, both of Wakefield; a brother, Hugh C. Laine of New Jersey; a sister, Lucy L. Lonberger of Ivor; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Wakefield Cemetery by the Rev. C. Randolph Duncan and the Rev. Douglas M. Cotter. A visitation with light refreshments will be held for family and friends following the service Sunday at the residence of Dr. C.W. and Tina Griffin, 131 W. Main St., Wakefield.
