(Curly) Griffin was conducted Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, by the Rev. Edward B. Owen and the Rev. L.P. Bland. Burial was in Wakefield Cemetery. Pallbearers were Herbert Carr, B.F. Ellis, Fenton Goodrich, Emmett Barrett, Charles Holt and Clifton Wade. Griffin, 50, died Monday in a Suffolk hospital. A native of Southampton County, he was a son of Charles W. and Mrs. Sadie Vincent Griffin. He was a member of Wakefield Hunt Club. He was a mechanic. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Linda Holt Griffin; two daughters, Mrs. G.W. Turner and Mrs. C. Eddy Wake of Franklin; a son, David W. Griffin of Wakefield; two sisters, Mrs. Cleo Piland of Margarettsville, N.C.; and Mrs. Calvin Piland of Norfolk; and two grandchildren.
