He was a resident of Hopewell Health Care Center and Dolphin, VA. Born in Wakefield, Virginia he was the son of the late Walter and Alma Epps Griffin. Mr. Griffin was an avid fisherman and gardener. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Doris Felts Griffin; brothers, Clarence Griffin and William Griffin; and sister, Virginia G. Wright. He is survived by daughters, Faye G. Leonard and husband, Skip, of Petersburg, Bonnie G. Pendergrass of Prince George; son, Woody Griffon and wife, Susan, of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Clay and Jason Leonarf, Justin and Lindsay Bulifant; four great-granddaughters, Savannah, Mackenzie, Maggie and Elizabeth Leonard; a brother, O.C. Griffin; sisters, Leclare G. Brittle, Christine G. Vaden, and Betty G. Lineberry; special friends including the staff of Hopewell Health Care Center and Daisy Kelly of Dolphin, VA. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in Wakefield Cemetery, Wakefield, Va. with Rev. Billy Davis officiating. The family received friends at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, on Tuesday evening. In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity. Purviance Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
