He was a member of Claremont Baptist Church and the Claremont Ruritan Club and was a charter member of Tanner’s Creek Volunteer Fire Department of Norfolk County. In 1977 he retired from the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Caudle Hebron; three daughters, Mrs. Barbara H. Cotton of St. Thomas, V.I., Mrs. Evelyn H. Morse of Hatteras, N.C., and Mrs. Marion H. Proffitt of Claremont; a son, James Dean Hebron of Reston; a sister, Mrs. Beulah H. Isaac of Steubenville, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Wakefield Cemetery by the Rev. Hugh Mayes. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield. The family request that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association.
