Service For Surry Native Held Monday 

  A funeral service was held Monday at 4 p.m. for Mrs. Dorothy Bailey Higgins, 
44, of Waverly, sister of Mrs. Raymond Rountree of Smithfield.  Mrs. Higgins 
died Saturday in a Richmond hospital after an illness of a month. 

  She was a native of Surry County and a daughter of Charles R. Bailey and 
Mrs. Annie Hargrave Bailey.  She was a member of Waverly Methodist Church 
where services were conducted by the Rev. J. Courtney Sheffield.  Burial was 
in Waverly Cemetery. 

  She is survived by her husband, O.P. Higgins, Jr., a son, O. Paul Higgins, 
III; a daughter, Miss Rosa Marie Higgins; three brothers, Roger J. Bailey and 
Wilburt Bailey of Wakefield and Codie V. Bailey of Norfolk; and seven sisters, 
Mrs. J. Herbert Drewery and Mrs. Herman Roach of Waverly, Mrs. Bernard Barrett 
of Sedley, Mrs. Lewis Reynolds of Richmond, Mrs. Henry Spratley of Surry, Mrs. 
Raymond Roundtree of Smithfield, and Mrs. James Harvell of Bellvue, Nebraska.
