She was born in Vance County, N.C., and was employed by Purviance Funeral Home from 1950 until 1978. She was the oldest member of Wakefield United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Linda H. Griffin and Mrs. Eleanor H. Goodrich, both of Wakefield; three sons, M.M. Holt of Sedley, J.A. Holt, Jr. and Earl W. Holt, both of Wakefield; one sister, Mrs. Mollie A. Haithcock of Macon, N.C.; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Purviance Funeral Home by the Rev. E. Lee Chattin. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Wakefield United Methodist Church building fund, Wakefield 23888.
