All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JOHN ANDREW HOLT John "Johnny" Andrew Holt, III, 48, a resident of Beaverdam Road in Waverly, Va., died from injuries received in an accident while working in South Hill, Va., on Wednesday, Va., to John A. "Jimmy" Holt, Jr. and Rose Bailey Holt. He worked for B.P. Short & Sons Paving Co. as an equipment operator. A loving husband and proud father, he was devoted to his family and church, Open Door Church in Suffolk, Va. He is also survived by his wife, Margaret Mays Holt of Waverly, Va.,; his daughter, Shannon Marie Holt: sisters, Deane Holt Moore and husband, William, of Ivor, and Tammy Holt Cahoon and husband, Rom, of Wakefield; nephews, Earl Holland Edwards, Jr. and David Andrews Edwards; nieces, Heather Lynn Holt and Ruth Elizabeth Cahoon; and a host of friends and relatives. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, at Open Door Church, 815 Kings Fork Road, Suffolk, Va., with the Rev. Tony Peaks and the Rev. Kathy Peaks officiating. Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 tonight at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, and other times at the residence.
