All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JAMES GARLAND HARVELL Mr. James Garland Harvell, 74, of Pequot Lakes, Minn., died suddenly Friday, October 28, 1988, while visiting at the home of his sister, Mrs. Teresa Harvell Belsches, of Prince George County. He was a native of Wakefield, Va., Sussex County, the son of the late James Guy and Bertha Richardson Harvell and the husband of Mrs. Annie Leigh Bailey Harvell. A graduate of the College of William & Mary, Class of 1936, Mr. Harvell was a retired employee of Allied Chemical Plant in Omaha, Nek. and a long-time resident of Bellevue, Nek. He also had been a resident of Hopewell in his earlier years with the company. He was a member of the Board of Adjustment for Crow Wing County Minn., was the secretary of the White Fish Golf Association and was a former Clerk of Ideal Township, Pequot Lakes. In addition to his wife and sister, Mr. Harvell is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Anne Garland Harvell McClung, Minneapolis, Minn.; two sons, James G. Harvell, Jr., Tucson, Ariz. and Ronald Lee Harvell, Rochester, Minn.; six grandchildren, Robin Mahaffey, Vickie Dice, Jennifer Harvell, Amy Harvell, Becky Harvell and Brian Harvell; and four great- grandsons, all of Minn.; and an aunt, Mrs. Nannie Harvell Smith, Richmond. A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, Nov. 2, 1988, 2 p.m. at graveside in Wakefield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Monday, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that contributions may be made to the Prince George Co. Emergency Crew or to a charity of your choice.
