BERNARD VICK HARGRAVE 

  Funeral services for Bernard Vick Hargrave, 81, retired auditor for the 
Union Bag Corporation in Franklin who died at Southampton Memorial Hospital, 
July 7, were conducted at W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home, Tuesday, 
July 9.  Burial was at the Wakefield Cemetery.

  Mr. Hargrave, son of Mr. George Moody Hargrave and Sarah Wilkerson Davis 
Carroll, was born and reared near Wakefield.  Early in life he was employed 
by a banking firm in Suffolk and then by the Surry Lumber Company in Dendron 
as a general bookkeeper.  He resided here for a number of years before his 
removal to Franklin, over thirty years ago.

  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lillian Slade Hargrave; 3 daughters, Mrs. Alma 
Schiller of Goldsboro, N.C., Mrs. Margaret Worell [sic; Worrell] of Newsoms 
and Mrs. Otys Roe [sic; Otis Rae] Frankfort of Phoenix, Arizona; a brother, 
Garland M. Hargrave of Petersburg and a sister, Mrs. Harry L. Harris of 
Wakefield.

BERNARD VICK HARGRAVE 

   FRANKLIN - A funeral service for Bernard Vick Hargrave was conducted 
Tuesday at 2 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. R.E. 
Brittle of Hunterdale United Church of Christ.  Burial was in Wakefield 
Cemetery.

   Pallbearers were Wallace Simmons, Shirley Culpepper, John M. Beale, Warren 
Councill, Joe King and Wesley Wills.

   Hargrave, 81, a retired auditor of Union Camp Corp., died in Southampton 
Memorial Hospital at noon Sunday.

   A native of Surry County, he was the husband of Mrs. Lillian Slade Hargrave 
and a son of George M. and Mrs. Sarah Davis Hargrave.

   He was a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church.

   Besides his widow, surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Alma Schiller of 
Goldsboro, N.C., Mrs. Margaret H. Worrell of Newsoms, and Mrs. Otis Rae H. 
Frankford of Phoenix, Ariz., a brother, Garland M. Hargrave of Petersburg; a 
sister, Mrs. Harry L. Harris of Wakefield; six grandchildren; and three great-
grandchildren.
