Harrell, aged 71 years, died at the home of his son, the Rev. C.T. Harrell, in Drivers, Va., this morning, at 9:30 o'clock. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary A. Harrell, of Driver, and two daughters, Mrs. G.H. Clary of Broadnax, Va., and Miss Jamie Harrell, of Rockbridge, Va.; four sons, W.B. Harrell, of Richmond, and Rev. C.T. Harrell, of Driver, W.J. Harrell, of Youngstown, Ohio; Louis Harrell, of Danville, Va.; also six brothers and four sisters, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at the grave near Masons [sic; Mason], Va., in Sussex county, by the Rev. T.Q. Banks, assisted by Dr. I.W. Harrell were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the grave near Mason, Va., by the Rev. J.T. Brown, assisted by the Rev. T.L. Banks and the Rev. E.W. Cloud. Active pallbearers were brothers of the deceased: A.D. Harrell, O.T. Harrell, D.J. Harrell, W.L. Harrell, W.B. Harrell, B.L. Harrell. Honorary: A.F. Oliver, Moore Williams, Al Darden, Vernon Eberwine, E.L. Everett, Charlie Wagner, Roy Jones, Walter Hurff, M.E. Holland, C.W. Jordan, Henry Harrell, Hunter Harrell. Redden Spencer HARRELL, retired farmer, b. 9 Jun 1856, Edgecombe Co., NC, d. 12 Mar 1928, at son's home, Driver, interred in the HARRELL family cemetery*, Mason Rd., Sussex Co., 14 Mar 1928, "Suffolk (VA) News-Herald," Vol. 5, No. 305, Tues., Mar. 13, 1928, p. 3; "Suffolk (VA) News-Herald," Vol. 5, No. 307, Thurs., Mar. 15, 1928, p. 2 *Additional information: A photo of his gravestone - added by Buck Ivey - is posted with Find a Grave Memorial #14485276; Cemetery ID: 2178100; coordinates: 36.76819, -77.39583. Widowed, he & Mary Ann WILLIAMS, daughter of Jacob & Jane, m. 9 Dec 1885 (Sussex Co. #28). His father (1832 - 1895) was a Confederate veteran, having served as a private in Co. E, 43rd NC Infantry. Rev. Charles Thomas HARRELL (1886 - 1962) is buried in Olive Branch Cemetery, Alton, Halifax Co., NC.
