SOL IRVING JENKINS 

  WAKEFIELD - Sol Irving Jenkins, 84, died Saturday in Nansemond Convalescent 
Center, Suffolk.

  He was born in Windsor and was a Sussex County farmer.  He was a member and 
deacon of Wakefield Baptist Church, past president and a charter member of the 
Wakefield Ruritan Club.

  Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Laura Ann Goodrich of Wakefield; a son, 
William Irving Jenkins of Wakefield; a sister, Mrs. Mary J. Johnson of 
Smithfield; and three grandchildren.

  A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today at Purviance Funeral Home, 
Wakefield, by the Rev. Parker Hooper.  Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery.

  The family will be at the home of the daughter.

  The family request that expressions of sympathy take the form of 
contributions to Wakefield Baptist Church or the Waverly Rescue Squad.
