Edward B. Owen. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield was in charge. Pallbearers were J. Russell West, John T. Faircloth Jr., Homer S. Saunders, Lemuel Duke, Marvie Felts, Raby Conwell, Robert J. Owens, E.V. Stephenson Jr., Robert R. Rawls and Paul Brantley Jr. Joyner, 36, died Saturday, Dec. 2, at his home in Monroe, Conn. A native of Southampton County, he was the son of Floyd T. and Mrs. Irene Rogers Joyner. He was a member of Stepney Methodist Church, a 32rd degree Mason, a member of Hiram Lodge No. 40 AF & AM, Raleigh, N.C., a graduate of V.P.I. and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a systems engineer with United Aircraft Corp. Surviving besides his parents are his wife, Mrs. Martha Lilly Joyner; three daughters, Pamela, Patricia and Peggy and a son, Charles R. Joyner Jr. all of the home.
