FLOYD CADMUS JOYNER 

   WAKEFIELD - A funeral service for Floyd Cadmus Joyner, 79, was held at 2 
p.m. Wednesday in Purviance Funeral Chapel by the Revs. Jim Tongue and Willis 
H. Switzer.  Burial was in Wakefield Cemetery.

   Joyner died Monday in a hospital.

   A native of Southampton County, he was employed by the town of Wakefield 
and was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church.

   Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy J. Hobbs of Wakefield; three sisters, 
Helen Poteet of Portsmouth, Estelle Joyner of Wakefield and Ida White of 
Norfolk; a brother, Dudley Joyner of Franklin; and a granddaughter.

   Memorial donations may be made to the Ivor Rescue Squad.

His wife, Gracie Belle (GOODRICH; Mrs. Floyd C.) JOYNER (1907 - 1952), 
   was originally buried in Rocky Hock Methodist Church Cemetery, Surry Co. - 
   where her parents are buried, but her remains were apparently moved to 
   Wakefield.  Her obit ("Suffolk News-Herald," Mar. 7, 1952, p. 1)
