All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Willis Jordan, 24, Killed on Highway Willis Lee Jordan, 24, was found dead early September on Route 10 near Rushmere, the victim of a hit-and-run driver. He left Newport News to hitchhike home to Dendron about 11:30 P.M. September 4th and the accident is believed to have occurred around 2 A.M. Monday. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. A.N. Jordan of Dendron. Survivors include two brothers, Edwin Nixon Jordan of Dendron, and Eugene M. Jordan of Buckroe Beach. Funeral services were conducted Wed., Sept. 7th, at the Dendron Baptist Church at 3 P.M. by the Rev. Philip May Hart, a high school classmate. Burial was in the Wakefield Cemetery.
