All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ EDGAR FRANCIS KITCHEN Edgar Francis Kitchen, 78, operator of Airfield Mill Pond, a popular fishing spot in Southampton County, died in a Suffolk hospital on Wednesday, December 29. A member Barrett's Christian Church for more than 60 years, he is survived by two sons, Charlie W. Kitchen of Wakefield and Jasper C. Kitchen of Hampton; one daughter, Mrs. R.E. Heflin of Midland, Fauquier County; and eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The deceased was a member of the Wakefield Hunt Club. Funeral services for Mr. Kitchen were conducted in the Purviance Chapel, Wakefield, on Friday afternoon, December 31, by Rev. J.E. McCawley. Burial was in the Wakefield Cemetery. Active pallbearers were B.P. Barrett, Hartwell Barrett, Wallace Brittle, R.C. Drewry, Y.C. Hines, R.R. Magee, J.B. Nicholson and W.C. Seeley. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Wakefield Hunt Club.
