Kitchen, age 80, died at her home in Wakefield, at 1:45 a. m. Saturday. Mrs. Kitchen was one of the oldest and most active members of the Wakefield Methodist Church. She is survived by three sons, W.W. Kitchen of Lexington; Julian V. Kitchen, of Suffolk, and Earling S. Kitchen of Wakefield; two sisters, Mrs. E.V. Holland of Wakefield, and Mrs. J.J. Faison of Waverly; five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow at the residence in Wakefield, to be conducted by the Rev. R.H. Humphries of Danville, former pastor of the Wakefield Methodist Church, assisted by the Rev. B.N. Hartness, pastor of Wakefield Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Wakefield cemetery. ****************************************************************************** MARY BROOKS KITCHEN WAKEFIELD - Nov. 20 - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Brooks Kitchen, 80, who died early Saturday morning, were held from the home here yesterday at 3 p.m. Mrs. Kitchen was the widow of the late Augustus E. Kitchen. The Rev. Robert H. Humphrey, pastor of Sledd Memorial Methodist Church, Danville, was in charge of the service, and was assisted by the Rev. R.N. Hartness, pastor of Wakefield Methodist Church, and Dr. A.W.H. Jones, pastor of Wakefield Baptist Church. Interment was in the Wakefield Cemetery. Mrs. Kitchen was the oldest member of Wakefield Methodist Church in years of membership. She joined the Methodist Church sixty years ago, before Owen's Grove and Coker's Well churches were merged into Wakefield Methodist Church. Mrs. Kitchen is survived by three sons, W. Willis Kitchen, of Lexington; Julian B. Kitchen, of Washington, D.C., and Earling S. Kitchen, of Wakefield; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Brooks Faison, of Waverly, and Mrs. E.V. Holland, of Wakefield; five grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
