All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Rites Held For Mrs. Rosa Livesay SUFFOLK, July 2 - Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Temple Livesay, of Dendron, were conducted at the Dendron Christian Church at 3:30 p.m. Sunday by Rev. R.E. Brittle and Dr. Samuel T. Habel. A duet, "The Old Rugged Cross," was sung by Mrs. L.T. Williams and Mrs. J.R. Bishop. A quartet, Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Bishop, Melvin Rollings and Marion Rollings sang, "Have Thine Own Way Lord." Mrs. Thurman Williams was pianist. The casket was covered with a pall of white gladioli, red roses and easter lilies, and at the grave the quartet sang, "Abide With Me." Active pallbearers were Berkley and Marion Temple, Landon Temple, Milton Livesay, Winston Livesay and Livesay Burrow. Burial was in the Wakefield Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** Mrs. R. F. Livesay Of Dendron Buried Mrs. Rosa Irene Temple Livesay, of Dendron, died June 30th [sic; 29th*] at a Suffolk hospital after an illness of two weeks. She was the daughter of the late James Robert and Rosa Burrows Temple, of Prince George County. Surviving her are her husband, W.B. Livesay of Dendron; three sons, A. Woodrow Livesay of Suffolk; W. Temple Livesay of Dendron, and Radio M, 2-c V. Hope Livesay, USNR; a daughter, Mrs. A. Owen Gwaltney of Suffolk; a grandson; three brothers, E.H. Temple of Dendron; J.C. Temple of Norfolk and J.H. Temple of Burrowsville; a sister, Mrs. C.M. Hobbs of Portage, Pa. Mrs. Livesay had been a memher of Brandon Episcopal Church for many years, but recently transferred her membership to Dendron Christian Church. The body was taken to the R.W. Baker Funeral Home and on Sunday was taken to Dendron Christian Church, where funeral services were conducted Sunday at 3:30 PM with the Rev. J.M. Roberts, the Rev. R.E. Brittle and Dr. Samuel T. Habel officiating. Burial was in Wakefield cemetery.
