ARTHUR TRUEHEART LAINE 

  SHAWSVILLE - Arthur T. Laine, 51, a resident of the Meadowbrook Home, 
Shawsville, died Thursday in the home.

  Born in Wakefield, he was an interior decorator and designer.  He attended 
West Point Baptist Church, Petersburg and was a graduate of Richmond 
Professional Institute.  He was also an Army veteran.

  Survivors include a daughter, Miss Melissa Laine of Petersburg; his father, 
Arthur C. Laine of Wakefield; and a sister, Mrs. Elo L. Underwood of Waverly.

  A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Wakefield 
Cemetery by the Rev. James M. Tongue.

  The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of 
contributions to the Wakefield Congregational Christian Church.  The family 
will be at the home of his father in Wakefield.

  Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, is in charge.
