MARGARET CHRISTEEN MAGEE LAINE

  Margaret Christeen Magee Laine, 96, longtime resident of Wakefield, VA, 
departed this life August 10, 2017 and entered eternal rest surrounded by 
her heavenly field of blue forget-me-nots.  She was the ninth of ten children 
born to the late Richard Daniel Magee and Alice Rebecca Morris Magee.  Left 
to cherish her memory are her two sons, Crawley Allen Laine, III (Vicky), 
Brian Magee Laine (Diane); grandchildren, Heather L. Clark, Crawley Allen 
Laine, IV, Brian Magee Laine, Jr., Erin R. West (David), Brad Redman (Tammie); 
seven great-grandchildren, Michaela Clark, Autumn Clark, Mollie Redman, 
Kaitlyn Redman, Chloe Redman, Charlie Redman, and Judson West; numerous nieces 
and nephews and her devoted dominos friends. 

  Christeen was a devoted wife and mother.  She cherished her immediate family 
and close friends all her years.  She found great purpose in showing 
thoughtfulness to others throughout her life.  She was always faithful to her 
church, Wakefield United Methodist, and was its oldest surviving member. 
Christeen took great pleasure, along with other talented ladies, in 
contributing her needlework skills to the creation of altar kneelers for the 
church.  A woman of many talents, she excelled in the arts and crafts classes 
offered through the local chapter of the Home Demonstration Club and won 
numerous awards and ribbons for her baking and canning skills.  Her needle 
craft skills were admired by all.  She held dear the gift of love given by her 
large extended family. 

  Christeen was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 42 years, Crawley 
A. Laine, Jr.; her parents; brothers; Romas Reeves (Buck) Magee, Daniel E. 
Magee, Richard Lee Magee; sisters, Annie M. Blanchard, Ruth M. Wood, Esther M. 
Lunsford, Newday M. Moore, Ray M. Glore, and Louise M. Sinclair. 

  A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, August 13, 2017 in the 
Wakefield Cemetery with Rev. Glenn Riggs officiating.  A reception for friends 
and family will be held immediately after the service in the social hall of 
Wakefield Methodist Church.  The family request in lieu of flowers, donations 
be made to a charity of your choice.  The family is being served by R.W. Baker 
& Company Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel.  Condolences may be posted at
