MILDRED BRANTLEY LANE 

  Mildred Brantley Lane, 87, a resident of The Village at Woods Edge, Franklin 
for the past two and a half years, and a former resident of Route 2, Ivor, 
died Monday, March 15, 1993 in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin.

  She was born in Southampton Co. daughter of the late Luther Harris and Josie 
Holt Brantley.  She was the widow of Ernest T. Lane.  Mrs. Lane was a member 
of Mill Swamp Baptist Church, Ivor, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday 
school and Bible school and was a member of the Essie Bell Circle of the W.M.U.

  She is sister, Dorothy B. Bryant, and a brother, Luther Ashby Brantley of 
Ivor and several nieces and nephews.

  A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Purviance Funeral Home, 
Wakefield, by the Rev. Jim Rogers.  Burial will follow in Wakefield Cemetery. 
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.

  Memorial donations may be made to the Mill Swamp Baptist Church Memorial 
Fund, Ivor, Va.
