He died at his residence March 23. The Rev. L.B. Bland and the Rev. H.E. Crutchfield, were officiating ministers. Burial was in Wakefield Cemetery. A native of Surry County, he was the son of the late Walter West Laine and Mrs. Gay Matthews Laine. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nina F. Laine, Wakefield; one daughter, Mrs. Gordon Price, Elberon; one brother, A.W. Laine, Hialeah, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Jenny Bass, Chatham, Va.; one grandson, D. L.P. Bland and Rev. H.E. Crutchfield officiating. Burial was in Wakefield Cemetery. Pallbearers were: James E. Hones, William H. Brown, Douglas Skinner, Marshall Brittle, S.A. Brantley, Jr., Shelton Stewart, Allison Moore and G.O. Huber. Laine died Saturday in his home. A native of Surry County, he was the husband of Mrs. Nina F. Laine. He was a member of Dendron Methodist Church and was a retired farmer. Besides his widow survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Gordon Price of Elberon.
