A native of Suffolk, she was a daughter of L.H. and Addie Oliver Norfleet and the wife of James Manley Long. She was a member of Wakefield Baptist Church, a graduate of Farmville State Teachers College, and a former public school teacher. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, James M. Long, Jr., and a daughter, Miss Jennifer Anne Long, both of Wakefield; two brothers, Robert N. Norfleet of Suffolk and William H. Norfleet of Philadelphia, Pa.; two sisters, Miss Clara J. Norfleet of Richmond and Mrs. Julianna W. Swann of Suffolk; and two granddaughters. A funeral service was held Saturday, Dec, 27, at 2 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Chapel by the Rev. L.P. Bland. Burial was in Wakefield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested that contributions be made to Wakefield Baptist Church. Pallbearers were L. Ray Ashworth, D.B. Briggs, G.N. Marshall, W.M. Cole, J.N. Savedge Sr., J.D. Faison, Dr. E.C.
