WILLIE BRINKLEY LANIER 

  WAKEFIELD - W. Brinkley Lanier, 82, Rt. 729, died Saturday in Louise Obici 
Memorial Hospital, Suffolk.

  He was a lifelong Sussex County resident.

  He retired as a farmer.

  He was a member of Barrett’s Congregational Church, Sussex County.

  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lucille Atkinson Lanier; three sons, Marvin 
Lee Lanier, Felix Benton Lanier, both of Wakefield, and Elton Brinkley Lanier 
of Fredericksburg; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy L. Birdsong of Portsmouth and 
Mrs. Alma L. Boykin of Wakefield; one brother, O’Kelly A. Lanier of Wakefield; 
one grandchild; and 2 step-grandchildren.

  A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Purviance Funeral Home, 
Wakefield, by the Rev. Amos Laine.  Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery.

  The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home 
and at other times at the residence.

  The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of 
contributions to the Ivor Rescue Squad, Ivor, Va. 23866.
