KATHERINE LOUISE ZIMMERMAN LANIER 

  WAKEFIELD - Mrs. Katherine Louise Zimmerman Lanier, 88, widow of O’Kelley 
Abraham Lanier of Wakefield, Va., passed away Sunday August 11, 2002, at Obici 
Hospital, Suffolk, Va.  She was a native of Maryland and was the daughter of 
the late Benjamin and Louise Strauss Zimmerman.  Mrs. Lanier had resided in 
Wakefield for many years with her family.

  She is survived by three sons, Albert Robin Lanier, David Lee Lanier, Robin 
Abraham Lanier, all of Wakefield; two daughters, Julie Ann Cross of Como, 
N.C., Louise A. Lanier of Wakefield; five grandchildren and five great-
grandchildren.

  Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2002, at the 
graveside in Wakefield Cemetery, with the Rev. James H. Kerr, pastor of 
Wakefield Baptist Church, officiating.  The family will receive friends from 
7-8:30 p.m. Monday at the Purviance Funeral Home, 11414 General Mahone 
Highway, Wakefield, VA.
