CATHERINE "KAY" LEYLAND BRIGGS MAGEE 

  WAKEFIELD - Catherine "Kay" Briggs Magee, 51, died Tuesday, May 3, 1994, at 
East Pavilion Nursing Home.  She was a native of Wakefield. [sic*] 

  She is survived by two sons, D. Laine Magee, Jr. of Wakefield and D. Michael 
Magee of Petersburg; one daughter, Molly M. Trent of Wakefield; two brothers, 
Barry D. Briggs, Jr. of Pittsboro, N.C., and Don A. Briggs of Dallas, Texas; 
two sisters, Ann B. Libscomb of Atlanta, GA., and L. Ellen Briggs of Richmond; 
six grandchildren; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.D. Briggs of Waverly.

  She was a member of Millfield Baptist Church where she previously served as 
choir director and Vacation Bible School president.

  Funeral services will be held at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, on 
Thursday, May 5, at 2 p.m. by Rev. Mike Harrell.  Burial will be in the 
Wakefield Cemetery.  The family will receive friends tonight, May 4, from 7 to 
8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the residence of Stephen 
and Molly Trent, 37337 Green Level Road, Wakefield.

  Memorial donations may be made to Waverly or Ivor Volunteer Rescue Squads or 
to the Central Virginia Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 
5001 West Broad St., Suite 220, Richmond, Va. 23230.
