A native of Surry County, she was a daughter of Eronimus M. and Mrs. Lou Slade Grant and the widow of John Irvin Munford. She was a member of Ivor Methodist Church. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Harvey J. Cowling of Wakefield, Mrs. Newton D. Martin of Virginia Beach, Mrs. Joe W. Luter of Ivor and Mrs. George H. Gray and Mrs. Al Lee Benton of Suffolk; a son, Gordon L. Munford of Smithfield; a sister, Mrs. Ladie Kitchen of Portsmouth; 31 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield by the Rev. L.P. Bland and the Rev. Bryan W. Holloman.
