MUNFORD Mrs. Stella Virginia Munford, 73, of 2306 Orcutt Ave., Newport News, died unexpectedly at 3 yesterday morning at her home. A 44-year resident of Newport News, she was a member of the First Congregational Christian Church, the Golden Rule Bible Class, the Mary L. Wells Chapter of the WCTU, and the Woman’s Fellowship. Survivors include her husband, Robert Lee Munford, Newport News; one daughter, Mrs. Hilda M. Gardner, Hampton; one son, George L. Munford, a member of the House of Delegates from Sussex and Greensviille Counties, Wakefield; four sisters, Mrs. E.B. Johnson, Petersburg, Mrs. Robert Gardner, Franklin, Mrs. Alvin Carr., Windsor, and Mrs. L.T. Uzzell, Newport News,; three grandchildren, Miss Anne M. Munford, Wakefield, Frederick Leon Gardner and C. Randolph Gardner, Jr., both of Hampton. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m., from the First Congregational Christian Church with the Rev. Jesse H. Dollar, D.D., officiating, assisted by L. P. Bland of Wakefield Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held at 4:30 p.m. at the Wakefield Cemetery. The body will remain at Peninsula Funeral Home until 1 p.m. Sunday, at which time it will be removed to the church. Active pallbearers will be W.A. Blake, R.F. Powell, W.H. Baker, J.L. Long, J.M. Long, M.L. Presson, L.L. Taylor, R.M. Pond, and honorary pallbearers will be members of the Golden Rule Bible Class and members of the Mary I. A native of Isle of Wight county, she had been a resident of Newport News for 44 years. She was a member of the First Congregational Christian Church, the Golden Rule Bible Class, the Mervey L. Wells Chapter of the W.C.T.U. and the Woman's Fellowship. Survivors include her husband, Robert Lee Munford of Newport News; a daughter, Mrs. Hilda M. Gardner of Hampton; a son, George L. Munford of Wakefield, member of the House of Delegates, from Sussex and Greenville counties; four sisters, Mrs. E. B.
