She was the daughter of Essie R. Murphy and the late C.C. Murphy. She was a member of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church, Wakefield, and Naomi Bible Class of the church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by two brothers, Frank Murphy of Smithfield and C. Randolph Murphy of Wakefield; and one nephew, Wayne Murphy of Elberon. A funeral service will be held in Wakefield Cemetery on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. C. Randolph Duncan. The family will receive friends at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, on Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Ivor Volunteer Rescue Squad, General Mahone Blvd., Ivor, VA 23866.
