She was the widow of W.A. Morris, a graduate of Longwood College, she had retired from Sussex County schools as a schoolteacher after 36 years. She was a member of Wakefield Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Talmage D. Foster, Jr. of Yorktown and Mrs. Glenn R. Taylor of Newport News; two stepdaughters, Mrs. W.B. Peebles and Mrs. E.B. Richardson, Jr., both of Wakefield; two step-sisters, Mrs. Mary T. O'Geary of Waverly and Mrs. Pearl Emory of Claremont, and five grandchildren. A funeral was held Friday in Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, by the Rev. Douglas Cotter. Burial was in Wakefield Cemetery. She graduated from the Farmville Public Schools and then attended Farmville State Teachers College (now Longwood College) and was a school teacher for some years before going to Wakefield, Virginia. While living there, she met and married a widower, Wilber [sic; Wilbur] Alvin Morris, who had two daughters.
