A native of Sussex County, she was a daughter of Christopher C. and Mrs. Ella Kitchen Laine and the widow of Clayton C. Morris. She was a member of Wakefield Methodist Church. Surviving are two sons, Dennis E. Morris of Wakefield and Garland C. Morris of Dendron; two daughters, Mrs. Doris M. Bryant of Courtland and Mrs. Jane M. Frith of Camden. S.C.; two sisters, Mrs. E. Daniel Magee and Mrs. Guy N. Wiedman of Newport News; four brothers, Chester G. Laine of Franklin, Amos L. Laine of Petersburg, Eugene R. Laine of Wakefield, and the Rev. A. Woodrow Laine of Richmond; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Edward B. Owen and the Rev. H.E. Crutchfield. Burial was in Wakefield Cemetery. Pallbearers were Vernon Clark, Joe Romines, William Jenkins, Harris Presson, Thurman Williams, Gordon Price, Jack Pond and Hartwell Barrett.
