NICHOLSON, SR. DIED THURSDAY AT WAKEFIELD HOME John Benjamin Nicholson, Sr., age 71, died at his home in Wakefield early Thursday morning, July 21, after a lengthy illness. The son of the late Thomas F. and Mary Drew Nicholson, he was born at the old Nicholson home near Wakefield where he lived until moving into Wakefield a few years ago. He was a graduated of the Medical College of Virginia from the School of Pharmacy. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Charlotte Owen Nicholson; two sons, John Benjamin Nicholson, Jr., of Wakefield, and Thomas Owen Nicholson, of Richmond, and four grandsons. A funeral service will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Purviance Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery. Pallbearers will be J.N Barker, W.B. Peebles, Emmett Richardson, Sr., Garland Spratley, P.J. Holmes, G.L. Munford and J.E. Bain. The family appeared in the 1920 Census - Wakefield Dist., Sussex Co. - appeared on a farm on Burton's Church Rd., Thomas by then being widowed.
