He was born in Dendron, Va., and was the son of the late Charlie Clifton and Odie Luture [sic*] Hargrave Pittman. He was a retired watchmaker and had owned and operated Pittman’s Jewelry in Wakefield for 54 years. He was a Baptist and member of the Horological Society of Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Eure Pittman and daughter-in-law, Lisa A. Pittman of Toano; a daughter, Linda M. Pittman of Wakefield; a granddaughter, Katherine M. Pittman and grandson, W. Stewart Pittman, both of Toano; three sisters, Vera P. Branch and Doris P. Massey, both of Newport News, and Edith P. Griffin of Windsor. He was brother of the late Burtron H. Pittman. A graveside funeral service will be held in Wakefield Cemetery on Thursday, April 6, 1995, at 2 p.m. by Rev. Douglas M. Cotter. The family will be at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to the Ivor Volunteer Rescue Squad. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, is handling arrangements.
